Birthdays, haircuts and school play

Ruby's birthday was on Wednesday so our family went over for a couple of hours to help her celebrate. Her actual party is today. Trevor still doesn't understand it when we celebrate birthdays twice, he says, "Mommy, Ruby's birthday already passed".

Trevor dressed up as a butterfly for his school play.

For some reason he would not stop putting his hands by his face. I will have to work on that for his Christmas show.

When they were walking out. Notice, of course, who the first one out is. Maybe they were trying to hide him in the corner!!!

TT playing on the playground before the show. She is seriously going to run that place next year. It will be so nice to have them at the same place!!!

TT's first haircut. She looks and is miserable. The poor thing has been sick for over a week. Yesterday we went to the doctor and she has croup. On top of that her second 2 year molar is coming in. Needless to say, the last few days have been rough!!!!

Her before picture. I didn't get an after, sorry. All we did was cut a little off the bottom, a few bangs, but mostly I wanted to get rid of all the stringy stuff on top. It turned out cute!!!

It has been awhile.......

We have been so busy the last week that I really haven't had 30 minutes in a day to sit down and write. Luckily today my students are watching a movie and our blogger sites are up and running. Here is a little of what we did....

Don's actual birthday was last Thursday so we had a few friends over for tacos and to watch the Laker game.

Trevor, TT and Ruby eating yummy (and blue) birthday cake.

Do you think it tasted good??? It matches her eyes and her diaper was also the same color the next day!!!

This is a picture of Trevor riding bikes at his school. Last Friday was the Fathers Day breakfast. Don was the last dad to leave 2 1/2 hours later and Trevor was very upset when he left. The teachers brought out one bat and one ball. Don said at one point her was pitching balls to 8 kids while all of the teachers were watching (I bet they were happy). That explains why Trevor was so sad when he left, he would literally hit balls all day if we let him.

Friday afternoon Don and I took the train to San Diego to watch the Padres play. Kelly stayed with the kids. The trip was great, the Pads won, our hotel was awesome and the train ride was the best!!! That is for sure the way to go!!!

Our train got in at 2:00 on Saturday and as soon as we got home we headed to Mission Viejo for Brady and Aubrey's birthday party. It was held at a place called Jumpin Jammin. The kids had an absolute blast but boy was I exhausted afterwards.

I didn't get any pictures but on Sunday night a group of my girlfriends got together to go see "Sex in the City". The movie was so good, everyone loved it. After the movie we all went to dinner and drinks at TGIFridays! Fun night!
Guess what we have going on this week...... retirement party tonight, Ruby's birthday tomorrow, Trevor's preschool end of year show on Thursday, Friday off (I'm sure something will come up), Ruby's party on Saturday and Fathers Day on Sunday. Seriously......does it ever end???

Jeana and all her bunco wins. By the way, we have played for 2 months and she has won both times ($400 total)

Happy Birthday Brady!!!

I know it is lots of pics but we had a very very busy weekend! Next weekend is just as bad!

Birthdays and Bunco

I really do need to slow down on the weekend. I woke up yesterday morning completely exhausted from our busy busy weekend and I thought weekends were supposed to be for relaxing (yeah right!). Friday night we had our family over to BBQ for Don and his sister Nicole's birthday. We had lots of good food, great company and of course the kids stayed up way too late. Saturday morning we got up and went and met Jeana, Shannon and their kids at the park for a couple of hours. After the park and while the kids took a nap I cleaned and picked up the house from Friday nights mess to get ready for Bunco at my house for Saturday night. Bunco was a blast.....15 girls, food, drinks and no kids, really how could you go wrong? Jeana was the big winner, she won $300.00!!! The kids spent the night with my mom because Don was at work so I got to sleep in until 8:00, it was wonderful! We then met my parents for breakfast, went to Jeana's for a little while, took naps and then headed down to Mission Viejo to celebrate Brady's birthday. Angie and Brian had the pool and slip and slide out so of course the kids had a blast. We had another fun filled weekend and it just gets me more excited for summer, 11 more days of work!!!
I forgot to bring my connection to plug my camera in to download pictures. I got some really good pictures of the weekend so I will post them when I get home from work.

Role Reversal

You all know from all my older posts how I have been down on TT most of her existing life. Well I must say that things have finally changed. She has become so independent in the last few weeks. I used to not be able to walk by her without her screaming and crying, "hold you, hold you hold you". She can now sit and keep herself entertained for hours. She has always been loving and it isn't any different now...she will dish out hugs and kisses to anyone, anytime. Now onto the role reversal, Trevor, who has always been pretty easy now needs 110% attention, focus and concentration all on him during his waking hours, which is a lot these days. There is absolutely no playing by himself or keeping himself entertained. I don't even know why we have all these toys he never wants to play with any of them. As I am writing this, he just came up to me screaming, "change my poo poo mommy, change my poo poo". NICE, I just love changing a 3 year old boys poop!

Vicodin is my new best friend

So I woke up on Sunday morning with THE MOST excruciating pain I have ever felt, even worse than giving birth to my two children!!! My back was so sore that I could barely move. I tried to suck it up and meet Jeana at the park but was in tears by the time I got there. So, I took the kids to my parents and my dad drove me to Urgent Care. The wait was 3 hours long and I knew that there was no way that I could wait that long. I called Jeana who had Vicodin at her house and went and picked it up. I immediately felt a little better and decided that I would just deal with it until today. I went to the chiropractor this afternoon and he immediately ordered me to get an MRI (waiting for referral from doctor) because he thinks I have a very inflamed or protruding disc. He says most likely I will have to get an epidural and we will go from there. I have had two epidurals before and they were lifesavers so lets hope that this one is too. In the meantime I am to take vicodin and ibuprofen. I cannot believe how sore and miserable this is. You don't realize how important those back muscles are until they aren't working properly. The good news is that Don is off the rest of the week. I hope this all happens quick because I don't know how long I can take this!!!!

Best Auntie Award!!

I know that Paige might disagree, BUT I do believe that my two kids have the best auntie in the whole world. I could go on and on for days about all of the things that she does and how much she loves/adores my kids (and they feel the same if not more). We don't have to go to work tomorrow so she thought it would be a great idea to take my kids tonight and have them spend the night with her, great right??? Let me tell you why. We (Don, me, Kelly, Jeana, Anthony) are going to San Diego tomorrow to go watch Don's favorite and the leagues worst, Padres play. We booked one room at the Omni so that we don't have to drive home after the game. Kelly, being the best aunt in the world, really wants me to go out and have a good time after the game but knows how I am about my sleep and how early I have to get up each day. So she thought it would be agood idea if she kept the kids so that I could sleep in in the morning, NO COMPLAINING HERE!!!!! Thanks Kel, you are the best!
