Don's new schedule is horrible.

I'm sitting at home for the second night in a row with both kids asleep at 8:00. I know that sounds great to some of you and if my husband was home that would be great for me too, but unfortunately he started his new schedule and works all night and sleeps all day. It works great for babysitting but sucks for our weekend time together. He is super busy at work and rarely makes it home on time and me and the kids miss him terribly!!! His weekend starts tomorrow so hopefully we can do something fun and he can get some decent sleep. I keep telling myself that it is better he has this schedule now, before our kids are in sports, but for some reason it doesn't seem to make me miss him any less. Thank goodness for family and friends, I don't know what I would do without them!!

Hey, somebody's gotta be out there protecting John Q. Public!!! Think about all the extra time you have to read blogs.

I know that you and the kids miss him terribly, but we love having you over so often. I am a little selfish.

LOL! Courtney, I was thinking the same thing!!

Kim,
I know it sucks! Just be thankful you have your family! I'm sure you mom and Kelly (and Dad) love the "girl time".

I have a similar schedule with Matt and while I remember it being lonely, you will soon love your "alone" time at night. Find a fun hobby you enjoy...people always ask how I find time to knit, sew, read, scrapbook, etc... It's amazing what you can get done from 8-10 at night when you are alone!

I'm sorry Kim - change like that always sucks. Hopefully you'll find a pattern of doing something that makes you happy and will start to embrace the quiet alone time. Nothing like keeping a marriage strong than being away from your hubby here and there (o: Your welcome over our crazy house anytime you are up for it!
