He can even dribble a basketball

Trevor dribbling a basketball
Trevor catching a basketball (look at that form, we still have to teach him to keep his eyes open)

One of the benefits of working at a high school is definitely all of the activities that go on. Before I had kids I went to every game, rally, fundraiser that went on. Those are very far and few between nowadays. I try to go to some of the stuff that is right after school (especially if Don is working) because my kids love it, we would just be hanging out at home and most importantly, I have lots of babysitters!!!! Last night there was a faculty vs. student basketball game to make money for a scholarship in memory of one of our former assistant principals. It started at 7:00 which is what time Trever goes to bed (well at 7:30). I decided to take him because I knew he would love it and he had an absolute blast. He got to sit on the bench while the teams were warming up, sit at the score table for the first quarter and then dance around like a mad man the second quarter. His favorite part had to have been at halftime when he got to go on the main court and dribble the basketball with all of the teachers. I couldn't believe it, my almost 3 year old could dribble a basketball. Don't get me wrong we have been pitching balls at him, kicking soccer balls at him, and shooting hoops with him for over a year, but I never knew he could dribble too. We have always hoped/assumed our kids would be somewhat coordinated but you never really know until you see them against other kids their own age and I think Trevor is going to be an athlete!!!! I hope I'm not jinxing myself but it is pretty amazing some of the things he can do. We'll see.......By the way, we do want him to be smart, polite, kind-hearted, hard-working, etc, and work at that too.

I'm glad you clarified... I was definitely thinking that you just wanted him to be an athlete with no other notable qualities! Your funny. How could he not be coordinated and athletic with you guys as his parents - that's really cool though to hear that he enjoys it on top of being good at it!

Trevor is FOR SURE going to be an all-around athlete. I have never seen a 2 year old as coordinated as him! He's also a smarty-smarty sweetheart!
